lots of happenings!

Well, it’s a peaceful Saturday afternoon at my house… well, peaceful to us, anyways. Son 3 is back from a week-long stay at the grandparents, and all 3 boys are so excited to be together again that they’re running thru the house doing crazy stuff like sliding on beachtowels on hardwood floors. Crazy good life, this one! God is so good.:)

This morning I had a party with some great gals, Meredith & Malorie, who hostessed a Flip-Flop Themed Poolside Thirty-One Party (that’s a mouthful, I know!). It was so cute, totally relaxed & then came the rain! So we moved it inside & still had a great party!

The party is still going on, in that they’re gathering up some orders. They are splitting the hostess rewards. By the time they are done, they will each have a little over $200 in FREE products, and 5 half-price items to use! Here are the pictures from today.

Malorie made these adorable 31 cupcakes!

The party was hosted at Malorie’s mom, Pam’s house. Pam is a VERY talented quilter, as you can see!

I guess I didn’t mention that the guests all brought their kiddos! Such cute little ones & it just makes me miss my boys being little! Here is little Miss A making sure the bag is big enough…

And checking to see if it’s roomy…and finally deciding that it’s just perfect!:)

With our busiest season coming up – August-December – people are ready to start thinking about Christmas. The whole reason I started Thirty-One was to earn some extra Christmas cash… I had no idea it would lead me here.:)Such a blessing!

Have a great weekend, everyone!:)

Thirty-One for Men (yes, really!)

My husband, Mike, is a groomsman in our friend Russell’s wedding in July. Russell’s friends threw him a “Honey-Do” Tool Shower this past Saturday night.

Like many of you, we are still pinching pennies in our current economic climate, and I’m all about putting together a creative, fun gift!

We filled this All-In-One Organizer with some of the types of tools that have kept coming up “missing” from Mike’s toolbox throughout our 12 year marriage. Like extension cords & needle nose plyers… every Christmas, Mike gets two new pair of plyers!:)We put together this gift with some things we think help make a marriage run smoothly: bandaids, kleenex, glue, pencils (to write down honey-do’s), other goodies.

taking the LEAP!

For me, stepping into the Thirty-One opportunity was a leap of faith. I’ve had these little froggies for my “take a leap” packets for a few weeks. My little froggies are to encourage others to take their own LEAP of faith. There are also Payday candy bars in my packets to show that sometimes when you take a leap of faith into Thirty-One, it will PAY off in so many ways!

My Thirty-One Story

Everyone has her own “Thirty-One Story”… what’s yours?

My Thirty-One story begins with a search. Sometimes we don’t know what we’re searching for, and God blesses us with the means to make something happen for good. Sometimes the door is open right in front of us and all we have to do is step inside! That’s where my Thirty-One story begins.

With the struggling economy, our family has needed extra income. For the past year, I have been open to any ideas that came my way that would allow me to earn extra income, but also allow my family to be together as much as possible. Most extra part-time work would have me gone every night after normal 8-5 hours… with three kids and a husband who need me, that was a very tall order! And with one of those children getting sick fairly often, it was hard to find something that would allow me to be the mom I needed to be and stay home with him.  We had been praying for an answer, and although we know He is faithful, it has often been so difficult to be patient and wait on Him!

Celebrate – Encourage – Reward

In October, I hostessed a catalog party for my sister-in-love, Robyn, to try to help encourage her with her Thirty-One business. I found that everyone I came in contact with loved the products and they weren’t too familiar with Thirty-One! (here’s my light-bulb moment!) I researched Thirty-One like crazy for the next few weeks, and found that it’s a great company. I really was encouraged by all of the training, support, and information the company gave me to learn to succeed.

I learned something very interesting – Did you know founder Cindy Monroe named  for Thirty-One for the Proverbs 31 woman? I had just used the story of the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31 for a lesson I gave at a church Ladies Day in August. At this Ladies Day, I spoke about how as women we try to be “Superwoman” and do so much for so many others in our lives… we try to balance and stumble so often. We try to do too much, and stumble quickly sometimes, and often try to pick ourselves back up, without letting God do what he needs to do with our lives… at this Ladies Day, I was really speaking to myself – I know I have to let go and let God!

So, as you can see, this really hit home with me – that from the top down, Thirty-One is all about enabling me to exemplify the qualities of the Proverbs 31 woman. Thirty-One wants me to be home for my family when I need to be. I feel like Thirty-One fell into my lap… I wasn’t looking to do anything with direct sales – ever! – so I’ve been really delighted to find that Thirty-One products sell themselves, and I don’t have to work too hard at it.

The company motto is “Celebrate – Encourage – Reward”. Celebrate each other, Encourage each other, and Reward each other for a job well done. Isn’t that amazing?

I really feel so incredibly thankful for an opportunity to make some extra money with Thirty-One, and make some great new friends along the way. It’s been so encouraging to know that I’m along for the ride with this Thirty-One journey. I’m not worried about where it will go. It’s been a blessing, and I’m so thankful!

I’m along for the ride, and loving every minute of it!

On November 1, 2010, I began my journey with Thirty-One, still skeptical, and with my one and only goal being “to pay for Christmas”. By December 15th, I had not only paid for Christmas, but paid our insurance bill for the month, which is no small feat! Thank you, Lord!!
